36 Days of Type 2022
As a testing ground of experimental typography, the 36 Days of Type 2022 collection features 36 alphabets alienated with strokes inspired by the commonly seen Chinese Hanzi / Japanese Kanji / Korean Hanja serif typography style — Ming-ti / Song-ti / Mincho (明體 / 宋體 / 明朝). Seemingly a cliche applying the “East meets West” approach that has been circulated in the world of graphic design for decades, the alphabets focus on capturing the uniqueness of detail in Ming-ti, its inheritance of traditional East Asian ink calligraphy and its modern adaptation to movable-type prinitng, attempting to redefine the way of drawing an alphabets and the way of delivering information with an unprecedented paradigm.
